Atlas Copco’s NGP and NGP+ series work with Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology, a reliable way to generate a continuous flow of nitrogen at a very high purity (up to 99.9999%). The NGP nitrogen generator Both the NGP and NGP+ PSA nitrogen generators offer the same high and adjustable purity (from 95% to 99.999%) and the same plug-and-play installation. The NGP offers a lower investment cost, while the NGP+’s top-end energy-efficiency ensures the lowest cost of ownership.
Both nitrogen generators are cost-efficient solutions when compared to bottles or bulk deliveries. Payback time depends on your nitrogen demand and local electricity cost, but quite often users notice a payback of less than a year.

Self-protective monitoring of the feed air quality: temperature, pressure and pressure dewpoint are constantly monitored. In the unlikely event of contamination, the feed air is automatically blown off.
Highest quality CMS (carbon molecular sieve): the adsorbent in the NGP+ has a high density and is compact spring-loaded with top/bottom equalization. A dedicated pressure sensor protects the CMS.

Pressure Swing Adsorption working principle
PSA technology allows nitrogen molecules to be isolated from other molecules in compressed air (water, oxygen, CO2, etc). The carbon molecular sieve (CMS), the adsorbent in the generator, retains all those molecules and only lets the nitrogen pass through to the outlet. While the CMS in one vessel regenerates a second, connected vessel goes through the same adsorption cycle. These two connected vessels work together to ensure a near-continuous flow of nitrogen gas.
